Linking to your top 4-8 performing posts using the FSRI block is key to retaining rankings, as this tells search engines that these posts are important. These should be linked to from the:
- homepage
- index page
- about page
Not linking to the top performing posts is a common reason for ranking declines.
They should be reviewed and updated once per month, as top posts tend to change with the seasons or holidays.
Reusable block
We recommend a single reusable block for the homepage, index page and about page, so that it only needs to be updated once to apply to all those pages.
The sidebar requires it's own block because of the recommended 2x2 layout of the FSRI block.
Seasonal
We also recommend setting up and using the Scheduled Categories block on the homepage, sidebar, index page and about page, in order to automatically link to historically performing recipes at specific times of year.
